Minutemen tie it up

The Minutemen evened the score at one 2:47 into the second period on a goal by freshman Mike Lecomte. The center took a pass from Will Ortiz at the boards, carried it into the slot.

His first show was blocked, but his second effort beat BC goaltender John Muse over the right shoulder.

The Minutemen struggled on the power play and are o-for-3 with the man advantage, but have stifled the powerful BC attack with strong defensive play.

The line of center Brett Watson and forwards Marc Concannon and Chris Davis have been all over BC's scoring line of Nathan Gerbe, Brian Gibbons and Ben Smith, who have had the puck in the UMass zone much of the game, but have gotten very few clear shots at the net.

BC leads in shots on net, 20-16.
