P.J. Fenton extended UMass's lead to 3-0 with a power-play goal midway through the second period. Freshman James Marcou started the play with some nifty puckhandling at the blue line to gain the zone.
Paul Dainton stymied the Huskies in the second period. NU pressured UMass throughout, but Dainton kept everything in front of him and controlled rebounds, preventing any second-, third- chance scoring opportunities.
The Minutemen are 10-2-2 in 2007-08 when scoring at least three goals in a game.
