Holy Cross' Jake Gorman ripped a one-out double off the W.B. Mason sign in left, and scored the Crusaders' fourth run on Brendan Akashian's two-out single to right.
Dicato was pulled in favor of Tim Comiskey, who forced a flyout to center to end the top of the fifth. As for Dicato's line, it was quite similar to last year's start in the very same game: 8 hits, 4 runs (2 earned), 0 walks, and 3 strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
UMass only has one hit heading into the bottom of the fifth.
4-0 Holy Cross.
