Senior Bill Rankin has continued his hot-hitting with a leadoff single in the bottom of the fifth. Rankin advanced to second base on a past ball, and then stole third on a pitch in the dirt. He scored the Minutemen's lone run so far on a wild pitch to Frank McPherson.
McPherson walked, and Jim Cassidy pinch ran with two outs. Cassidy stole second, but he was stranded after a Travis Munsey strikeout to end the inning.
The Crusaders have used a different starting pitcher in every inning to this point.
4-1 Holy Cross after five.
