Women's Lacrosse
By Kevin Dooley
The season in all liklihood came to an unofficial close for the Massachusetts women's lacrosse team after a 12-11 loss at St. Bonaventure this afternoon. With Richmond, George Washington and St. Bonaventure guaranteed of finishing ahead of the Minutewomen in the final standings, the team will have to hope for Duquesne to defeat Temple this afternoon and then have both teams lose their final two contests if the Minutewomen are to advance to the postseason. If UMass and Duquesne finish with identical records, which would be records of 3-4, UMass wins the tiebreaker via its 10-6 win over the Dukes on Friday. If Temple emerges victorious Sunday, UMass would be officialy eliminated from postseason contention due to the fact that Temple would own the tiebreaker over the Minutewomen and Duquesne.
